Kissing with God's eyes covered/When Fates finds us
**Spoiler Warning:**
In this story, Noemi, a young woman with the ability to foresee the future, encounters Theo, a man from a wealthy merchant family who has been granted noble status due to their immense wealth. Theo, a sceptic of Noemi's powers, mocks her, leading her to predict a significant future loss for him. Her prediction comes true, and Theo returns, seeking Noemi's help in recovering a lost family heirloom. In return, Noemi strikes a deal with Theo: he must help her escape her grim fate as the "Wife of God," a title that guarantees her death at the hands of the malevolent deity, Olax.
Initially, Noemi tries to disqualify herself from this fate by pretending to have an illicit affair with Theo, hoping to tarnish her purity. However, during their encounter, they share a kiss, triggering a vision where Noemi sees a future with Theo, children, and a deep, intimate connection. This vision strengthens her resolve to escape with Theo, and they flee to a kingdom where Olax is not worshipped.
In this new kingdom, they meet Pierre, a guard and friend of Theo. Noemi senses that Pierre holds Theo's heirloom, which raises suspicions about his loyalty. However, many readers speculate that Pierre remains loyal and that his involvement with the heirloom might be connected to future events where Theo entrusts him with it. There is a possibility that Olax could manipulate or take over Pierre, but his betrayal seems unlikely.
Olax, the evil god, is fixated on acquiring more power by sacrificing brides, each of whom possesses a unique power that Olax absorbs upon their death. The heirloom Theo seeks is the Iron Crown, a powerful artefact belonging to the Tysayin people, followers of a different god considered devils by Olax's followers. Theo's aunt, Jonnaes, is believed to have stolen the Iron Crown from the Tysayin leader, with hints of a past romance between them.
The Iron Crown is crucial to the story, as it is the key to defeating Olax. It is divided into three parts: one held by Olax, another by the Bellon family, and the last by the Tysayin leader. Olax, in a twisted move, gives one part to Theo, hoping the crown's influence will drive him away from Noemi.
Meanwhile, Noemi's brother, Enzo, emerges as a compelling character. Although he doesn't openly show it, Enzo deeply cares for his sister and devises a plan to protect her from Olax. His character adds a refreshing layer to the story, as his potential romance with Lord Hugo introduces a homosexual relationship that is treated with the same depth and respect as heterosexual romances, making it a unique aspect of the narrative.
The story appears to be building towards a happy ending, as hinted by Noemi's visions, with the characters overcoming their struggles and defeating the evil god Olax. The intertwining themes of love, power, and destiny create a rich and engaging narrative that keeps readers invested in the fate of Noemi, Theo, and the other characters.
